Welcome! My name is Amber Smith and I am the owner and founder of Erstwhile Studios. I've been a Reiki Practitioner since the summer of 2014 and a Reiki Master Teacher since the fall of 2016. I believe that in order to teach something as vital as Reiki to new practitioners, you first need to be present in your practice so you are able to teach from a space of understanding, knowledge, and experience.

That is the primary reason that I only hold classes a few times a year when I feel called to do so. I have seen hundreds of clients while on my path as a Reiki practitioner and I have knowledge based on those experiences to offer that I believe to be unique for this field. I take a real world, down to earth approach to my practice. De-mystifying energy healing modalities, such as Reiki, is an important step in the evolution of the practice. Allowing the modern-day client or student to see the benefits without feeling the need to be in a specific type of head space or in a particular part of their spiritual journey.

Reiki is for everyone; it can be learned by anyone and should feel more accessible overall.

My hope is that you find this class at the right time, when you feel called to follow a path to the healer inside of you. It's important to remember that learning Reiki does not require you to become a practitioner and take clients. While I believe we need more practitioners in the world, we also need to start healing ourselves. If you take this class to help yourself relax and heal that is more than a good enough reason. Perhaps you are drawn to Reiki because you know someone who could benefit, but you have no desire to work on clients you don't know personally, that's also a beautiful reason to learn. As long as your intention is pure, there is no wrong reason to follow a path that leads you to learn to heal.

REIKI I Class Description - DAY ONE

March 23rd, 2024 - 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

You will receive the placements (attunements) to the Reiki I energy, which allow you to access greater healing energy.

• Byosen Scanning – detecting where Reiki is needed
• Hand Positions Kenyoku – a method to cleanse one’s energy      field
• Hayashi Healing Guide
• Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice Self Treatment

REIKI II Class Description - DAY TWO

March 24th, 2024 - 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

You will raise your spiritual awareness and increase your Reiki energy channeling abilities. You will receive a powerful Reiki Second Degree Attunement and learn the sacred Reiki Second Degree techniques and symbols for the expansion of the Reiki healing energy.

• Reiki II Symbols and Meanings
• Placements and how they work
• Deeper level of practice and understanding of the Reiki      techniques
• Complete Treatment using your symbols
• Gyoshi-ho
• Enkaku Chiryo
• How to get intuitive with Reiki
• Chakra Clearing & Balancing with Reiki
• Divination tools and how to implement them into your practice
• How to deepen your practice and create a more meaningful      experience
• Reiki Share /Support Group
• Starting your own practice

Prerequisite: Reiki I Class from any lineage!

The class is a combination of lecture, discussion and experience. Practice time includes giving and receiving a complete Reiki treatment using all the hand positions, the self-treatment and practice using all the Japanese Reiki Techniques mentioned above.   While practice takes place during the class, please set aside additional time to practice after the class is over. The suggested time could be a few hours a week for several weeks, or a smaller amount of time over a longer time frame, to practice Reiki with one, or more, people from your Reiki class or with members of your family or friends. This additional practice is necessary to gain the experience and confidence you need to fully utilize the Reiki training.
