Hello to all of my Erstwhile babies! We are hosting a silent auction and benefit for Jessica's daughter, JurNee.

JurNee has been suffering severe leg pain for the past few months. The doctors believed it to be due growing pains and a need for her to stretch the muscles in her legs. After multiple rounds of doctors' visits and physical therapy to help improve her condition, JurNee finally had an MRI on May 16th. Unfortunately, the doctors discovered a 9.3cm tumor located on her spine. Jessica and her husband, Austin met with a neurosurgeon on May 18th, where they were informed that due to her symptoms and the recent MRI, the tumor would need to be removed as soon as possible. Without surgery the tumor could eventually cause permanent damage to her spine, effecting her overall health, ability to walk, and quality of life.

Her surgery is scheduled for June 7th at the Children's Hospital in Omaha. Surgery will be a minimum of 5-6 hours. The surgeons will have to remove a section of her vertebrae and go through the spinal cord and nerves to get access to the tumor and try to remove it. The doctors will then seal her spinal cord shut and try to reconstruct her vertebrae back together using plates and screws. She will then be required to lay flat on her back for at least 3 days following her surgery.

100% of all proceeds and donations will go directly to Jessica and her family to help cover all of the expenses that go along with being blindsided by medical issues. We are hoping to help them cover at least a fraction of their upcoming expenses such as medical bills, travel costs, childcare for their other 3 children during surgery, their stay in Omaha, and the lack of income from missing work during this time.

We will be holding a silent auction at Erstwhile on Sunday, June 11th, 2023 from 10:00AM - 4:00PM. Winners from the auction will be announced at 3:30PM. Winners do not need to be present to win. We will collect contact information on each of the ballets to ensure the winners can be notified as soon as possible.

We are collecting baskets, services, donations, and gift certificates from local businesses. If you or someone you know would be interested in donating to our benefit for the Brewer Family, please get ahold of Amber ASAP so we can list your items on our call sheet.

We will also have a giant card for participants to sign and give to JurNee during her recovery at home.
